Nepal’s Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

Good Deeds Day Nepal made a powerful statement in the fight against air pollution and climate change with the Katmandu Climate March. In partnership with the National Human Rights Commission of Nepal (NHRC), this impactful event aimed to mitigate the negative effects of climate change in the country.

Approximately 500 passionate youths from Nepal enthusiastically participated in the March, voicing their concern and commitment to creating a greener and healthier environment. The march took place in Kathmandu, the capital city, and was followed by an enlightening interaction program on Air Pollution and the vital role of youth in addressing climate issues. Through this collective effort, Good Deeds Day Nepal and its partners demonstrated their dedication to building a sustainable future and making a positive impact on their community and the planet.

Taiwan Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

Good Deeds Day Taiwan was a resounding success, celebrated with immense enthusiasm as part of the global movement of Doing Good! The Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE) in Taiwan, their partner organization, led the celebrations in Kaushung, the largest industrial center in Kaushung City, with hundreds of people coming together for the eighth consecutive year.

The day was filled with great events, all geared towards raising awareness about volunteering, forging new connections, and inspiring people to take action and make a positive impact. It was a collective effort filled with the spirit of giving back to the community. Taiwan truly shone bright on Good Deeds Day!

India’s Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

On April 23, 2023, Captains Social Foundation teamed up with The Pavel Fest, a community festival, to organize a Unity Flame Run. More than 500 community members participated, starting the rally from three different locations and covering a total distance of around 21 km. The Unity Flame Run symbolized the power of unity and togetherness when working towards doing good. The aim was to spread the message of #doinggood and inspire others to take action in their communities.

Cambodia’s Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

The organization River Ocean Cleanup, based in Cambodia, normally focuses on cleaning up the rivers and beaches around the country of Cambodia. Last year for Good Deeds Day 2022, they hosted a special festival, the Freeing Fish Festival. During this festival, exactly 16 million fish were released to represent the entire population of Cambodia, one fish per one Cambodian citizen. The committees have strategically selected this theme based on the traditional relevancy, as it symbolizes happiness, wealth, luck, and positive long-term impact.

Moreover, this festival aims to unite the citizens of their society in doing good deeds. The event took place in 21 cities with over 1,000 participants in cooperation with government stakeholders, NGOs, private sectors, experts, and influencers across the country.

Good Deeds Day Cambodia is making a positive impact by releasing fish, planting trees, and donating food and clothes to people in Siem Reap province. Alongside these acts of kindness, they also come together to enjoy traditional Khmer games, fostering a sense of joy and togetherness.

Tanzania’s Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

On Good Deeds Day, Tanzania and their partner organization, Grateful Circle from Njombe, collaborated on a project to promote proper toilet usage in schools. The initiative aimed to maintain good hygiene, prevent the spread of disease, and create a safe and healthy learning environment for students. They educated students, teachers, and support staff about the significance of using clean toilets correctly and provided essential toilet cleaning materials like brushes, squeezers, and soaps.

This project touched on various Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities; SDG 17, Partnership to the Goals; SDG 3, Good Health and Wellbeing; SDG 4, Quality Education and SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Nigeria’s Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

Good Deed Day Nigeria was joyously celebrated in Osun state, focusing on the theme “Health for All.” The celebrations took place at the Antenatal ward of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex. Participants from the event teamed up with the hospital’s environmental section to clean the surroundings, making the area more conducive for patients.

As part of their heartfelt gesture, they presented 5 Bed spreads to the patients, adding comfort and warmth to their stay. Not stopping there, they also adorned the matrons, doctors, and other staff of the ward with Good Deed shirts, showing appreciation for their hard work and dedication. Through their compassion and commitment to “Health for All,” they spread positivity and made a meaningful impact at the hospital!

Brazil’s Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

In 2023, The Day of Good Deeds Brazil made a remarkable impact, rallying an impressive 1,660 volunteers! This momentous event saw the collective effort of hundreds of NGOs and social projects coming together to make a positive difference. A true testament to the spirit of solidarity and community engagement!

The Día das Boas Ações, coordinated by ATADOS, culminated in a fantastic closing event at Celso Daniel Santo André Park for Good Deeds Day. This year, they organized a grand total of three events, drawing a remarkable attendance of over 8,000 people, 100 NGOs, and 30 artists. The real stars, however, were the more than 1,600 volunteers who passionately participated in over 100 actions spread across 12 states. A truly inspiring display of unity and generosity!

Panama’s Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

Día de las Buenas Acciones Panamá joined forces with United Way Panama for a meaningful cleaning and painting day at Valle del Sol School, Arraiján. The Forest Sector residents took the lead in cleaning the avenues, while at Alberto Einstein Institute, a successful dry food collection campaign was conducted. The collected items were generously donated to the Republic of Finland School to celebrate Good Deeds Day. Furthermore, they solidified their commitment to the community by signing an alliance agreement with the school to provide ongoing support. Together, they created a lasting impact and made a significant difference in their community!

Saint Lucia’s Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

The Do-Nation Foundation organization successfully hosted a clean-up campaign in the village of Canaries, collecting 50 bags of garbage. This impactful initiative involved the dedication of 35 volunteers, demonstrating the power of teamwork in creating positive change.

Moreover, the Do-Nation Foundation’s commitment to the community extended beyond the clean-up. They provided essential support by delivering clothing and hygiene products to those in need, further exemplifying their mission of making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Their professionalism and compassion in organizing this event deserve recognition.

Haiti’s Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

ActiveH is a non-profit organization started by three Haitian students to promote initiatives and volunteer actions to improve education in Haiti.

One day made a lifetime of difference! Good Deeds Day Haiti, together with dedicated volunteers, spent an amazing day with the young girls at an orphanage in the city of Hinche. The day was filled with training, games, and fun activities.

The girls enjoyed relaxing moments and received valuable health advice and training. What’s more, the volunteers generously distributed over a hundred hygiene kits, which included essential sanitary towels for the benefit of the girls.

Through their selfless efforts, Good Deeds Day Haiti and its volunteers brought joy, support, and crucial resources to these young girls, creating a lasting impact on their lives.

United States’ Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

In 2023, Good Deeds Day has joined forces with GoodPop, collaborating with like-minded, local hero companies nationwide. These selected companies have become City Sponsors, taking charge in their respective cities to ignite a wave of goodness in their communities.

Each City Sponsor led a volunteer activity on Good Deeds Day, partnering with a nonprofit organization of their choice. They inspired grassroots involvement from their employees, friends, families, and the local community to come together and celebrate the day of doing good. This dynamic collaboration set the stage for a culture of kindness that will continue throughout the year.

United States’ Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

Sending someone going through a tough time a handmade card is a perfect example of how a small gesture can brighten someone’s day. Two brothers, Hurshneet and Pravneet, started Project Smile AZ with a goal to bring everyone a smile, from A to Z.

On Good Deeds Day 2023, they continued their inspirational work by sending motivational cards to anyone in need through partnerships with organizations that support youth, seniors, veterans, hospitals, and homeless shelters.

Albania’s Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

Our partner organization, Beyond Barriers – Pertej Barrierave, made its first-ever Good Deeds Day celebration in Tirana! The event centered around the theme of diversity and inclusion, bringing together 20 enthusiastic youngsters and children with intellectual disabilities who attend a special school in Tirana.

The activity took place inside an educational greenhouse they had established on the school premises, providing a nurturing environment for the students to learn about horticulture and connect with nature. Their caring local and international volunteers filled the day with joy and laughter for the children.

From playing with balloons and bubbles to drawing flowers and dancing to music, the volunteers engaged the kids in various delightful activities. They even created a beautiful activity banner together, adding an artistic touch to the event.

Good Deeds Day celebration was a heartwarming showcase of kindness and inclusion, leaving many smiles and cherished memories in its wake.

Portugal’s Event: Good Deeds Day 2023

SOUMA by Amigos da Estrela on reached a remarkable milestone for their 170th food distribution! This incredible initiative has provided much-needed nourishment to 600 people in need, all made possible by the dedication, motivation, and enthusiasm of their wonderful volunteers.

Their commitment to serving the community and spreading joy through their efforts is truly inspiring. With every distribution, they have touched the lives of those in need and made a significant impact. Kudos to SOUMA and their amazing team of volunteers for making a positive difference in the lives of so many!
