GOOD DEEDS DAY IN PANAMA
Since 2015, Panama takes part actively in Good Deeds Day every year. During a day, hundreds of volunteer projects with thousands of participants are launched. And every year, prior to this great volunteering day, we hold a workshop for NGOs which deals with the planning and organization of the different projects as well as a press conference where we introduce all our sponsors and strategic partners, receiving extensive press coverage and obtaining a strong presence in important media outlets.
In 2018, the Good Deeds Day 2nd Latin America Regional Conference was held in Panama. For three days, we shared and learned about the different GDD experiences across the continent and grew stronger as a group of volunteers engaged with this initiative. Our colleagues of the continent learned about our work, efforts and strategic planning that give rise to a successful Good Deeds Day at the national level, with great partners and sponsors as well as considerable press coverage.
On April 7, 2019, we received wide media coverage and had more than 18,175 volunteers performing over 440 Good Deeds in this amazing event. Year after year our projects grow better in terms of quality and quantity, as we incorporate new volunteers, organisations, and business entities. Good Deeds Day in our country has great recognition and presence across the whole land, and this allow us to forge great and considerable alliances with both the public and private sectors.
Recruiting participants on a national scale motivated us to keep helping others. This is why we want to encourage you to join. With your participation, we will make our number of volunteers grow every year.

Our commitment as participants and organisers of Good Deeds Day in Panama is to Do Good every day of the year. We seek to create a chain reaction of good deeds, where we can all learn that the satisfaction produced by helping others is what dignifies us as human beings. This is why our interest in promoting Good Deeds Day will double since September, with shout-outs on the radio, TV and social media.
Doing Good together has helped fostering the volunteer and solidarity spirit all over the world. We believe that promoting volunteering helps creating a new generation of leaders engaged with national development, allows raising awareness of the challenges we must face, and makes it easier to develop new skills. We wish to foster a good deeds culture to show that, despite all the bad news we receive every day, we can also build good news about acts of kindness every time we can.
For the 2021 edition of Good Deeds Day we focused our efforts on developing a virtual events calendar where participants could find a space of their interest. These activities were mainly designed to perform good deeds from home.
The Joy Cocktail, Emotional First Aid, Solidarity Messages, tale time, and Zumba mornings, are some of the activities we run and which reinforce our motto “creating Solidarity and Social Sensitivity values” to become better citizens.
