As the New Year begins, there’s a familiar quiet in the air. Calendars are blank again. Messages slow down. And across the Good Deeds Day community, leaders pauseת not to plan the next event, but to reflect on something deeper: How do we keep doing good long after the day itself is over?

For many communities, the answer begins with a small moment…

Spring: Planting Seeds of Kindness (Weeks 1–13)

Spring is about renewal, growth, and fresh starts. It’s the perfect season to plant seeds—both in the soil and in our communities.

Good Deeds to Try:

  1. Welcome a new neighbor or student
  2. Volunteer at a local school or youth center
  3. Plant a tree, herb, or community garden – get inspired by Arbor Day Foundation
  4. Write a thank-you note to a teacher or mentor
  5. Donate books via Better World Books
  6. Clean up a park or shared space
  7. Support a local small business
  8. Mentor a young person – explore Big Brothers Big Sisters
  9. Learn about a social or environmental issue in your community
  10. Invite someone new to join a community activity
  11. Share kindness online
  12. Help someone start something new
  13. Inspire someone else to lead

Spring reminds us that every small action has the potential to grow into something meaningful.

Doing good doesn’t require perfection, big budgets, or special skills—just intention and consistency. When kindness becomes part of everyday life, its impact reaches far beyond a single day.

As you move through the seasons of 2026, remember: every good deed matters. Choose one each week, invite others to join you, and watch how small actions create lasting change.

So… which good deed will you start with?
